The American Music Research Center is a joint venture of the University Libraries and College of Music devoted to the discovery of new information about American music and to the sharing of those discoveries with the wider community. The AMRC sponsors concerts and scholarly activities related to American music of all kinds such as its annual journal and guest speakers featured at annual symposia.

The AMRC Presents

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW . . .
Songs That Bring Us Together

an old fashioned sing-along

Sunday, June 29th, 4:00 pm, Grusin Music Hall
College of Music, 18th and Euclid, east of Broadway
University of Colorado at Boulder

Please join the AMRC for our summer sing-along, now in its fourth season. The program will be led by local storyteller and teacher Bett Kopit and pianist Robert Farr, and will include folk songs from Appalachia to the Southwest as well as Tin Pan Alley favorites. There will be a $5.00 suggested donation at the door. A book featuring some of the beautiful lithograph covers housed in our collection will be available for purchase. "Something Old, Something New . . . Songs That Bring Us Together" is dedicated to Wayne Scott, professor emeritus of music at CU.

AMRC Award Recipient

AMRC is a recipient of the National Federation of Music Clubs
Educational Institutions Annual Award for the accomplishments of 2004.

The AMRC serves as a research archive for performers and anyone else wishing to preserve American music and enhance its cultural and transformational potential for future generations.
