Tour. Lisa Nickum led the group on a tour of the basement of the library. 2. Announcements: we welcomed back Gary Morell to GoPIG (new position); Auraria filled LTII position; Mines filled tech position; Tim spoke yesterday at the University of Wyoming Federal Depository Consortium. 3. Minutes: corrected date and place; otherwise, approved 4. Next meetings: April 28 at CSU; May 19 at CU Boulder (after lunch tour of ESRI - producers of geographic products); June is open (Lisa will check into possibility of our going to Adams State sometime in the summer); July 28 at UNC) 5. NTIS. Lisa discussed issues relating to the future of NTIS. Feb. 29 was last meeting on the issue. John Stevenson (representing GODORT and ALA) proposed that NTIS go to GPO. Kaiser-Hill, involved in the clean-up of Rocky Flats, has a reading room at Front Range Community College. Gary will offer out some of their publications on hazardous materials clean-up. 7. State Capital Universe (CIS). A CIS rep., Priscilla McIntosh, stopped by Auraria Library to demo the product. All 50 states' statutes, regs, and bills are included. Another product, Government Periodicals Universe (coming in Spring 2000), continues the CD version, which continues the paper. Indexes over 70 publications. Cost: $1095 (Web only); $1295 (with print as well as Web access). Congressional Masterfile I coming to Web soon, but very expensive. Index to Current Urban Documents is discontinuing fiche: going to Web. Auraria gets only Colorado; DPL gets full selection for western states. Waiting for quotes from the Alliance for IIS and SRI. Let Louise know if interested in participating. 8. World News Connection (WNC). If NTIS goes under, the CIA will have to ensure that someone takes over WNC. 9. Image Mouse. http://www.anacomp.com/ImageMouse/ Lisa said that Mines will beta test this product that turns pages of fiche into digitized format. Not ready for prime time. Presently using first software release; second version should be improved. $900 to get it. 10. Louise is a candidate for the Nomination Committee of GODORT. 11. Depository Library Council Meeting is coming up. Discussed the issue of replacing tangible products with electronic versions. 12. Colorado Peak Performance (CPP). Those from state institutions discussed the CPP, the Colorado performance appraisal system.
