- Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice is the primary institution within the federal government responsible for enforcing federal statutes prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, sex, handicap, religion, and national origin.

- International Labour Organization links to gender equality programs regarding the workplace.
- United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW)
- Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1979, and is "often described as an international bill of rights for women. Consisting of a preamble and 30 articles, it defines what constitutes discrimination against women and sets up an agenda for national action to end such discrimination." Each country that has ratified or acceded to the convention conducts a Country Report every four years.

- United Nations Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality (IANWGE) or WomenWatch, is "a central gateway to information and resources on the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women throughout the United Nations system, including the United Nations Secretariat, regional commissions, funds, programmes, specialized agencies and academic and research institutions."
- United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (INSTRAW) promotes research and training for the advancement of women worldwide.
- World Health Organization, Department of Gender, Women, and Health publications and fact sheets on issues affecting women's health.

- Gendercide Watch tracks and reports on "acts of gender-selective mass killings around the world."
- Protection Project gathers "information regarding the national and international legislation protecting women and children from commercial sexual exploitation." The site features demographic data and maps, summaries of national statutes, texts of relevant international conventions, survivors' stories, video clips, human rights reports, and other relevant information. Although free, the site requires registration for use.
- Safe Motherhood Strategies this collection from the New Zealand Virtual Library "contains 57 documents that discuss the merit of current policies and strategies for safe motherhood."
- Women's Human Rights Resources "is a free, accessible on-line library on international women's rights law. The purpose of the WHRR web site is to help researchers, students, teachers, and human rights advocates locate authoritative and diverse information on women's international human rights via the Internet."
- Women Working, 1800-1930 is a collection of digitized historical, manuscript, and image collections on working women from the Harvard Library collection.
