A joint project of the Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics. The CPS surveys about 50,000 households on a monthly basis. "Estimates obtained from the CPS include employment, unemployment, earnings, hours of work, and other indicators. They are available by a variety of demographic characteristics including age, sex, race, marital status, and educational attainment. This database from the Institute of Industrial Relations, University of California Berkeley, is an "One-stop public on-line clearinghouse for cataloged and digitized complete text of union contracts". The database is not searchable yet. It can be browsed by state, union, or represented occupations. - O*NET, the Occupational Information Network
A "comprehensive database system for collecting, organizing, describing and disseminating data on job characteristics and worker attributes. O*NET replaces the outmoded Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT)". The database includes a search for occupations by keyword or job family. The search results include a snapshot of an occupation with links to detailed information on the characteristics of an occupation, the necessary skills, experience and education, the job outlook and wages, and other information.
