Content from these vendors/publishers can be downloaded to mobile devices for offline reading.
Users must have set up an account, and must be logged in to EBL in order to be able to download EBL e-books. Users using iPads or iPhones can download EBL content to their Apple device and read via the free Bluefire Reader app. Downloaded EBL ebooks can also be transferred to any portable ebook reader that supports Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). There's a list of these compatible devices on the ADE website. In addition to these options, all portable devices with browser support can access EBL and read online via the web.

All of the Springer e-books that are available in PDF format can be downloaded; the PDF files must be downloaded one chapter at a time. These files can be read online or offline on any reader that is able to read PDF files.

What are they?
QR codes (Quick response codes) are readable by most smartphones equipped with a camera. After reading the barcode the phone will point to a url, an image, a phone number, text, contact details etc. In a matter of seconds, useful information will be delivered directly to your phone.
Norlin Library has placed barcodes throughout the building at specific locations where questions are common. |
How to read them?
To read the barcodes in Norlin, you will need to download the app from http://gettag.mobi.
Devices supported include: Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Symbian, Blackberry, Android and J2ME phones. Open the app and capture the QR code with your mobile device camera. The app will translate the QR code into a url, text, image, or phone number.
Examples of barcode supplied information include: a map of stack areas, textual instruction on technology use, access to mobile enabled library resources, chat with a librarian, or call a librarian.

+ VPN (Off Campus?)
If you are using library resources off campus, you need to install the VPN.
If you are using an Apple mobile device, you can download the Junos Pulse mobile VPN app.
Currently CU-Boulder does not officially support a VPN option for Android users. Although, there is a Junos Pulse application for Android, it does not have full functionality and is not recommended. Android and other users will need to use the Web VPN on a mobile device.
