What are they?

QR codes (Quick response codes) are readable by most smartphones equipped with a camera. After reading the barcode the phone will point to a url, an image, a phone number, text, contact details etc. In a matter of seconds, useful information will be delivered directly to your phone.

Norlin Library has placed barcodes throughout the building at specific locations where questions are common.

How to read them?

To read the barcodes in Norlin, you will need to download the app from http://gettag.mobi.

• Devices supported include: Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Symbian, Blackberry, Android and J2ME phones.

Open the app and capture the QR code with your mobile device camera. The app will translate the QR code into a url, text, image, or phone number.

Examples of barcode supplied information include: a map of stack areas, textual instruction on technology use, access to mobile enabled library resources, chat with a librarian, or call a librarian.
