Minutes: May 27, 2009


#1  The Green Task Force Charge will be reviewed by the Library Council on Thursday, May 28, 2009. The dates of the charge will need to be adjusted accordingly if the Council does approve the charge. Once the task force charge has been approved, LAB will meet with the members that have volunteered for the task force, review the charge, and answer any questions that the task force has about its required duties. In addition, the task force will need to contact the Environmental Center and request that someone from their office participate as an ex-officio person on our Green Task Force.  A few of the important tasks that the task force will need to complete initially will be to develop a draft web based manual as a guide for action, as well as to research and make recommendations to replace the light at the East entrance to the library with an alternative light fixture (ie. CFL, LED, or other alternative), and also check into rejuvenating participation in a Victory Garden/Gardening Group.


#2 We discussed checking with Dan Davidson and Shelley to see how the search for used picnic tables is progressing. In addition, we discussed having Dan or Shelley check with the individual responsible for Buildings and Grounds to give us an estimate to purchase 2 new picnic tables (that fit campus standards).


The next scheduled Library Advisory Board Meeting will take place on June 24, 2009.
