GISColorado
GISCO has been established to represent and foster GIS activities throughout Colorado with a goal to further the sharing of data and exchange of ideas.
The University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS)
A nonprofit organization of universities and scientific organizations dedicated to expanding and strengthening geographic information science education and research. The University of Colorado, Boulder is the founding member.
Colorado Geographic Alliance
Provides an on-line tool for ordering, accessing, and browsing geography education information from COGA and from other organizations. COGA is an organization comprised of approximately 7,000 classroom teachers, administrators, professors, and interested citizens dedicated to promoting and improving geography education in schools at all levels in Colorado.
American Library Association Map and Geography Roundtable (MAGERT)
MAGERT is the world's largest map library organization. It provides a forum for people interested or involved in any aspect of map or geography librarianship.
Association of American Geographers
AAG is a scientific and educational society, created to share interests in the theory, methods, and practice of geography.
National Geographic Society
Offers all sorts of map images for viewing and/or printing. There is also information about the society, their publications, television programs, and geography education ( and National Geography Bee).
National States Geographic Information Council
NSGIC is an organization with representatives from all US states that is particularly concerned with geographic data and systems.
North American Cartographic Information Society
An organization comprised of specialists from private, academic, and government organizations whose interest lies in the map information community.
Washington Map Society (Washington, D.C)
The Washington Map Society is an informal organization of people interested in cartography, cartographic history, and collecting maps, both old and new. The Society offers field trips, lectures by prominent map experts, and a scholarly journal, The Portolan.
Western Association of Map Libraries
The Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) is an independent association of map librarians and other people with an interest in maps and map librarianship.
ASPRS: The Imaging & Geospatial Information Society
ASPRS, American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, is a scientific association serving over 7,000 professional members around the world, to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences, including photogrammetry, remote sensing, and GIS.

Mapgiving
Mapgiving is an organization whose mission is to advance geographic awareness through maps, for non-profit clients and the people they serve. Mapgiving helps to identify the cartographic needs of non-profit groups, and then coordinates with the cartographers that have pledged/donated their time and talent to create useful, beautiful maps.
Mapping Institute of Australia
This Australian organization's goals are toward the professional development of individuals and organizations involved in the many facets of the mapping sciences.
Society of Cartographers(UK)
This UK society's membership is widely drawn from the education sector, statutory institutions, local authorities, public utilities and the commercial and publishing industry, including many overseas members.

Holds variety of maps, atlases and aerial photos (many historical). Of note are valuation maps from 1918-20, which show much detail along CO railroad lines, sometimes including rivers and town plats. The library sells reproductions of these valuation maps.
