Student Guide

RIOT, research instruction online tutorial, is a core component of the Program for Writing and Rhetoric first-year writing course (WRTG 1100, 1150, 1250).

The tutorial’s objective is to enhance students’ information literacy and to:

• Present research as an intellectual process connected to learning and inquiry

• Anchor Information Literacy instruction in the first-year writing curriculum and assignments

• Provide a conceptual overview of the research process as well as CU tool-based instruction

All classes complete the tutorial and visit the library for a librarian-led seminar.
