Off-Campus Access (VPN)

You must be authenticated as a CU-Boulder employee or student if you are trying to access our licensed databases and online resources from an off-campus location. To do this, you must be logged in to the VPN.

  1. Download and install the VPN on your computer. Instructions are available on the OIT VPN Information Page. Please note that the Web VPN Interface currently does NOT work with Research Pro as well as with some of our online resources. We recommend downloading the Network Connect VPN or the Cisco VPN for use with our resources.

  2. After installation, run and log in to VPN before you access the online databases/journals. A CU IdentiKey is required for logging into the VPN.

  3. Click here to test whether you are successfully logged in to the VPN.

If you encounter problems with the VPN and/or your IdentiKey account, please call the OIT Help Desk at 303-735-HELP or email them at help@colorado.edu.


If you are using a mobile device, you will need to use the VPN Web Interface.
