Subject Guide for Classics
How to Use the Subject Guide
This
subject guide is meant to assist students, faculty, and staff in the
effective research of the Classics through guiding them through the
beginning phases of their research. It is divided into
three different research specialties -- Greek and Latin Literature,
Archaeology, and Ancient History -- closely mirroring CU’s Undergraduate
and M.A. track system, and contains information ranging from a general
overview on a subject to specialized information for the expert.
Each page is divided into two major classifications: Electronic
Resources and Textual Material. Subclasses are utilized that
further divide into areas of expertise. For example, under Textual
Material one will find Encyclopediae, Pictorial Dictionaries, Grammars,
etc. Material present in Norlin’s onsite collection is
highlighted, complete with a link to the permanent catalog record where
one can check location and availability.
Please note: to access
some electronic resources from off campus, the VPN client is
required. See http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/research/offcampusaccess.htm for further information.
