Elizabeth Wolferstan, nee Thomas, lived 1770/71 until 1855 and was married to the Reverend Thomas Thomas, the vicar of Tidenham, Gloucestershire. Her oeuvre includes religious verse published under her name as well as anti-Catholic poetry published anonymously. She published several works, including nine novels under the nom de plume of Mrs Bridget Bluemantle.
