Present:  Culshaw, Fong, Helgoth, Jobe, Wakimoto

 

Fong and Helgoth brought two sample license records for review by the committee.  With these in hand, the committee compared the records against Nebraska’s documentation and the system defaults.

 

Tentative decisions

  • Licensee (e)—change to a multi-value variable length field  (Yem and Linda will determine the values.  Possible values:  CU-B, CU-System, Alliance, GWLA) (John)
  • Authorized Users (u)—add two additional values:  Faculty, Staff, Student AND Faculty, Staff, Student, Walk-in Users  (John)
  • Negotiator (o)—Linda unable to add to sample records.  May require higher level authorization.  John will check into this.
  • Site Definition (f)-- change to a multi-value variable length field  (Yem and Linda will determine the values. Look at Nebraska’s list.)  (John)
  • Remote Access (k)—look at Nebraska’s list.  They include Via proxy, Via username/password, AND Not Allowed.
  • Terms of Use—Patron (t)---Has already been prepopulated with a set of multi-value variable length values.  Yem and Linda will enter several records to see if they would like to add any new values.  Patron record will be the “base” record.
  • Terms of Use—Staff (w)--- Has already been prepopulated with a set of multi-value variable length values.  Yem and Linda will enter several records to see if they would like to add any new values.  The staff record will only be used to add things that shouldn’t display to public.  See Terms of Use Patron.
  • Nebraska added new variable length fields for Law & Venue and Breach Cure Note.  At this point, we don’t think that we need to add.
  • Add a NEW variable length field called CU Addenda  (John)

 

Other points discussed

  • Perpetual Access (Fixed Field)---decide whether or not to create additional values at some point in the future when we have more experience with the records.
  • We may be ready to start to looking at timelines/workflow in the near future.
  • Once we have a few more records, it’s probably a good idea to start looking a public display issues on the staging server.  Meredith should be included at that point.
